The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. A reasonable interval has passed since our big 2007 show was brought to a close in August, and as always, some perspective is gained by the passing of time. It is great fun to look back at the photos from the show, but it’s an activity best not begun until the information has had time to filter and ferment for a bit. Give it a while for the self-preservation, internal balancing mechanisms of the human brain to adjust the context and maybe trim off a few of the neural spikes and barbs that might have been a bit too abrasive if reviewed too soon after the actual event. Here at the MMOGTA Publishing Complex, an informal poll of the collective employee sentiment on this subject indicates that the time is now at hand to begin just such an exercise in reflection.

With last weeks posting of the all new 2007 Show Photo page, the process was begun, and what fun it was, as we relive the first two days of absolutely perfect tractor show weather. Problem is, we have a three day show. While we have been quite fortunate for the past several years in this regard, those of us who can remember back to the origins of our club in 1974, know full well that the organization was almost literally born in a mud bath. On Sunday, the 3rd and final day of our 2007 show, it was like déjà vu all over again. Of course the grounds are all well tiled now, and the sod is firm and well established, so the display field held up just fine. It’s just that few inches of clay that migrates outward from our pulling tracks that has gotten us a bad reputation on those few rainy days. We do adapt, we do go on, we make a mess, move it out of the way, and then make another, but the show goes on. So now that the cold, wet feet, muddy campers, and shorted magnetos are little further from our memories, let’s take a look back at day “3”.
