The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again.

Meteorology
by Frank Young

I’d sure have to say, in a Michigan Day
You can pass through any three seasons
If the first half is nice, there may be a price
But seldom a rhyme or a reason

Though the sky at the dawn, be the soft tint of fawn
By noon you’ll be knee deep in snow
So you pull on your boots, and your snowmobile suits
And into the blizzard you go

With your feet getting wetter, you’re hoping for better
As you cast your gaze to the sky
And note with some pain, it’s turning to rain
As you turn up your collar and sigh

Any sensible fella, would have brought an umbrella
You mutter as you slave away
You’re caught off your guard, in your own back yard
By a typical Michigan day

Though it wasn’t much fun, your day’s work is done
And that seems to suit you just fine
You trudge through the door, tracking mud on the floor
Just then the sun starts to shine

“Caught us by surprise”, the weatherman lies
“But tomorrow is looking just great”
You’d give your last dollar, to grab his white collar
And set that city boy straight

They must have been rabid, those first to inhabit
This miserable Land of the Lakes
I’d head down that corridor, till I got to Florida
If I wasn’t afraid of the snakes
