DRESS REHEARSAL

As if we needed more proof that Michigan summers are too short, it’s Fair Time already in Central Michigan. The “back to school” sale ads are appearing at every commercial break, as are the promo’s for the new fall shows on TV. For those of us who treasure the brief respite from snow and cold weather, it’s a little depressing. The 100th Saginaw County Fair has come and gone, the Shiawassee Fair will take place the following week. It’s a busy time for all of us at the MMOGTA Showgrounds, as preparations are under way for our 39th Annual Show. As requested, a few of the boys took time out from their busy schedules to stage a brief threshing demonstration at the local fair. To be sure their efforts did not go unnoticed, the intrepid website staff took a break from their many summer vacations, and shot a few photos to chronicle the display.
