MMOGTA was established by Clayton and Fran Doty, Lawrence and Jeanette Haak, Walt and Ann Ritenburg, George and Doris Valentine, and Bob and Carol White. In the early 1970s, these friends began participating in threshing bees and local events such as parades and festivals. The inaugural official shows took place in 1975 and 1976 at the Haak farm, while the first event at the current venue occurred in 1977. Although the incorporation took place in October 1974 following an August gathering, the 1974 event at the Haak farm is regarded as their first show, despite the absence of signed documentation at that time.

MMOGTA’s showgrounds is slightly more than 137 acres, a significant achievement for our membership, which includes 40 acres designated for display, 36.87 acres for member camping, 59.08 acres for parking and additional camping, and 1.35 acres for the clubhouse, ensuring ample camping and parking facilities. Initially, we began by leasing 12 acres. Our organization hosts monthly tractor pulls from April to September, with a special show in August and an Education Day in September. We operate entirely through the efforts of volunteers, with all activities conducted by 100% volunteer support. The show features various attractions, including raffles, on-site food, a flea market, arts and crafts, live music, and souvenirs. Our showgrounds features more than 23 permanent exhibition spaces. During the event, we offer nine different types of pulls, accommodating participants starting from the age of three and older.
