The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. The Start of Something Big

If it remains true that “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, then surely this message will be welcomed by all. It does appear I have been derelict in my duties as relates to the MMOGTA website. While it is true there have been greater demands on my time by outside forces in recent months, I find it very difficult to come up with an excuse for not having a fully functioning website…..at least I couldn’t find any that weren’t currently in use by the government. With that said, we’ll soldier on and set about the business at hand.

Our last offering in this space depicted a peaceful autumn scene, showed you some happy people enjoying the last outdoor party of the season at the showgrounds, and took a last look at our facilities as they were about to be buttoned up for winter. In the serenity of that moment, we could foresee the upcoming deer season, maybe a nice turkey dinner, families gathered around a sparkling Christmas tree, and a quiet New Year’s Eve watching the most meaningless spectacle on television. Amongst all the revelry that accompanies the New Year, we often hear sage predictions of things to come. I watched some of that, thinking surely these people are wiser than I, they’ll tell me what the future holds in store. And they had wondrous projections of a hi-tech gilded age where we access the world and it’s wonders through the tips of our fingers, as we sit stroking the magic screens of our “devices”. Strangely, I didn’t hear a damn thing about “Polar Vortex”. Well, we know now, don’t we?

So, (and I note here that I hate the trendy use of this word to start every sentence) even though we are in the icy grip of a winter, the likes of which has not been seen in 20 years, we are aware that the countdown timer for the 2014 MMOGTA Show has been firmly engaged. It is the start of a new year, and of course we wish the very best to all of our membership, participants, supporters, and friends. I know, I know, “if wishes were horses” and all that….but we’ve got more than that for you. 2014, it turns out, is kind of a big deal around here. In case you might have lost count, this will be the 40th Anniversary of the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Assn. No, we don’t know where the time has gone, either, but it went, and thanks to you, we remain. As a tribute to our founding families, the Featured Brand this year will be tractors and equipment made by the Huber Manufacturing Co. of Marion OH. Show dates will be August 15th-17th, 2014. Mark your calendars! We’ll get some more info up on the “current show” page as soon as we can, and for now we’ll just add a couple of random pics from the year’s end Christmas party.
