The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. Looking Ahead

Last week we took the luxury of engaging in a little nostalgia, which is always a pleasure, and very much appropriate for the nature of our organization. But, however enjoyable “looking back” may be, it’s a nice place to visit, but even if we wanted to, we can’t live there. Like it or not, we exist here in the present and, if we’re smart, we spend our energy planning for the future. That’s just the way it works. Most of us have learned that we have very little success trying to effect changes on the past. It serves us now as just a useful reference book.

So here we are, standing at the threshold of calendar year 2008, and all of those pages are still blank. Our job; simple, fill in the blanks.

Actually, most of our year has already been mapped out as far as the dates are concerned, and will appear shortly on the “Coming Events” page of our web site. That’s the easy part, penciling all those dates into your new calendar. Then you have to make all those events happen. Less simple. It starts early for some of us, getting material ready for the ’08 Showbook, selling advertising, collecting photos, etc. Even though we won’t field an official event for over 4 months, the club is far from dormant as we begin the New Year.

“ Nothing is more constant than change”, they say, and with each new calendar we select new officers, new plans, new features, new members, new ideas. Out with the old Koski, in with the new. A new Care-Taker position has been added, we’ll do the introduction here in future weeks. Baker tractors and machinery will be the featured brand for 2008. With each month’s meeting, we’ll likely be adding 4 new member families, and for a new idea, we have decided to reverse the direction of travel for our daily parade event during the show.

Of course this little preview is just the tip of the iceberg, designed to remind all that MMOGTA is very much a year ‘round enterprise, as exemplified by the fact that even during the winter, the average attendance at our monthly meetings is around a hundred members. Hats off to all of you who will fill in those blank spaces on our calendar and make it all happen for the 34th time in 2008 !
