The contents of the “Weekly Feature” page are provided to you for your entertainment, amusement, and perhaps information. Here you may find articles of interest, pictures, historical information on the Club, or whatever shuffles to the top of the pile on our desk. The only defined characteristic of this space is that we will make every effort to change/replace it around the middle of each week. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again. Natural Resources

You know what they are. They’re the stuff of life, the things we depend on from day to day. As natural as the air we breathe or the water we drink. We take it for granted that they will always be there, like one of those things you don’t miss until they’re gone. We all have or had one of our own, and maybe we didn’t use it as wisely as we could have, but they were almost always at our disposal. So ever-present and dependable we even have a national holiday to commemorate their existence. No, it’s not fossil fuel or wildlife or trout streams like you guys are all thinking……. It’s your Mom.

We take a well-deserved moment this weekend to express our gratitude to the ones who gave us life, taught us how to use it, and started us down the road. Some of us may have taken a wrong turn here and there along the way, but NONE of us have forgotten where we started.

They typically ask little in return, and all too often that’s just what they get, so consider this a gentle reminder of one thing we all have in common, that is really quite an uncommonly valuable resource to all of us, that being all of the mothers in our lives. The lucky ones can even be recycled into Grandmothers, thereby extending their value into the next generation.

I’m not big on most commercially successful “Hallmark Holidays”, but I think this one is worthy of our attention. To all of those Moms in the group, thanks, for all that you do and all that you are. To those who have them available, remind them that their selfless efforts do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

A few of my favorites are shown below.
