Auction 2009

Another sign of progress toward the busy season at MMOGTA, a date has been selected for the Annual MMOGTA Antique Tractor Auction.

JUNE 6th, 2009

Mark that date on your calendar now, and make your plans to attend one of our favorite events. This will be the 5th annual Antique Tractor and Equipment Auction held by our organization, featuring a 2-Day swap meet at the showgrounds, full service dining from the Club Kitchen, camping, and a sheltered tractor sale area, with bleachers and shade. Well-known auctioneer Don King, from South Whitley IN will once again call the action, assisted by his experienced crew.

Here’s a chance to create your own economic stimulus package, by marketing some of that hardware you’ve been investing in over the past years. We have seen many venerable banking institutions fail in the past year, but no accompanying drop in the prices of our prized old “iron”. Despite what your wife may have said, those old tractors have not been a bad investment in these troubled economic times. Sort of like our own version of the “precious metals” market, with a stability that most of Wall Street would envy.

To begin the process, it is critical to get early listings to the auctioneer as far in advance as we can, in order to develop an attractive sale bill, insuring a generous crowd of potential bidders at our sale. If you have considered making some changes in your collection, now is the time to contact the auctioneer, so you can be sure your items are listed in the staged advertising. He can be contacted at:

As the publicity begins, you should be able to view the listings on his website at the following url: www.kingauctionservice.com

Further information on the event can be obtained by calling Bill Koski at 989-723-2369. Please note that the date is slightly earlier than last year. (We may have to import the strawberries for that famous Franfoods shortcake, but we have been assured that it will be on the menu)

We close with a few memories from last year’s auction: (click individual photos to enlarge)
