2014 was another milestone year for Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association. The main entrance gate moved to the East side of the showgrounds on Brennan Road to serve our new parking lot and additional people movers were added to help get everyone where they wanted to go. In addition to a lot of maintenance on existing facilities, equipment and demonstrations, and in spite of the very wet weather, progress was made on a couple of "new" attractions. The old Stewart Grain Mill foundation was completed and the 1903 Wickes Gang Saw was belted up and cycling for the show. They both need many more hours of hard work before being totally demonstration ready, but progress is happening!

Although we don't actually count how many daily visitors attend the show, there was never a time during the 3 days when there wasn't a crowd of people enjoying tractor pulls, parades, exhibits, demonstrations, the flea market, the bands, the crafts, the food and the fun. There was a great camper turnout
and people hauling tractors and everything else not only from Michigan, but from as far away as Texas, are key to making the show a success. A majority of the exhibits were tractors, but the variety of other old interesting antique pieces of equipment is amazing and it took hours to explore the exhibit areas.

Going into 2015 we are especially missing a couple of our long time members and their dedication to MMOGTA, not only during the show, but throughout the year. Don Hart, in addition to serving many years as President and Vice President, took care of the raffle tractor including hauling it to shows around the state, managing security for the show, helping with demonstrations in the handle mill and was very involved in the construction of many of our buildings. Another long time member, Larry Schneider, who could almost always be found working on crop and harvesting preparations and demonstrations or involved with his very successful Oliver pulling tractor obsession will also be missed by all of us at MMOGTA.

As much appreciated warmer weather approaches, plans are made to do some maintenance projects and make headway on several of the works in progress for new equipment installations and demonstrations. And the 2015 show which will feature Ford, Fordson and New Holland Tractors and Equipment is shaping up to be a memorable event. Every few years the timing works out so that another of the larger Michigan shows does not occur on the same weekend and this is one of those years, so we are anticipating more campers, exhibitors, and spectators than ever.

There have been a few revisions in Camping Rules for 2015 to help make the show and camp grounds safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
